Our Food

High quality food-the way it used to be. Traditional country cooking featuring many old favourites is complimented by modern cuisine created by co-owner and Culinary World Cup Medal winner, Richard Punshon.

All meals are provided to the highest standard using fresh seasonal ingredients. Our pork is from our own, hand reared rare breed pigs.  The beef we use is purchased from our local farmers and neighbour, the Howes of Daisy Hill Farm.  Local produce is used whenever possible, with seasonal game being a speciality.  We are now well into game season with 3 or 4 choices of game dishes daily.

Offering more formal dining, the restaurant provides an atmosphere perfect for entertaining friends and family. The restaurant can be booked for private dining where individual menu requirements can be provided for. The restaurant can also be used for corporate business meetings.

Booking is advisable as the restaurant is very busy at weekends.

We are now selling our own pork dishes procured from our stock of rare breed pigs.  After foraging for local natural produce during August and September we are using our homemade jams, marmalades and chutneys that for our menus.  These have proved very popular, if you would like to try some just ask.
